Description
Nexium 20 mg Tablet is used to treat frequent heartburn (occurs 2 or more days a week). It is also used to treat acid reflux (occurring 2 or more days a week) and to relieve frequent stomach problems caused by acid reflux treatment (heartburn, ulcers, and indigestion). Nexium is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by decreasing the amount of acid your stomach produces. This will help to lower the amount of acid your stomach produces and so reduce the discomfort caused by frequent heartburn and acid reflux.
Warnings
Do not use Nexium if you are allergic to esomeprazole, lansoprazole, omeprazole, pantoprazole or pantoprazole; take any medicines for any type of acid reflux; take it with other medicines called antacids to prevent stomach acid buildup; take this medicine with or without food; take this medicine with food to prevent stomach upset; take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor.

Each tablet contains 20 mg of esomeprazole (as magnesium stearate, docosahellinone, sodium esinate).
Active Ingredients: Esomeprazole
Inactive Ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose, croscarmellose sodium, crospovidone, magnesium stearate.

Always take this medicine exactly as described in the Consumer Medicine Information leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist have told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure. The recommended dose is one tablet a day. - Do not take more than this recommended dose of one tablet (20 mg) a day, even if you don't feel an improvement immediately. - You may need to take Nexium 24HR for a few days before experiencing the full effect. - Nexium 24HR should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days. - Tell your pharmacist or doctor if you do not feel better while taking Nexium 24HR. If symptoms persist or recur within 2 weeks of completing the course, consult your doctor. Further examination may be required.
